TAIMOOR SALAHUDDIN aka MOOROO – Pakistan’s Finest Content Creator
An actor. A musician. A filmmaker. A comedian. A storyteller. A writer. A photographer. A composer. Anything. You name it, Mooroo is defined by the term.
There’s a renowned saying that goes, “A jack of all trades but master of none”, however this figure of speech lacks justification when Taimoor Salahuddin aka “Mooroo” is being discussed because while Mooroo paddles his qualities in a variety of turfs he also is a master of these turfs, just the same.
THE ADVENT OF “MOOROO”:
Mooroo, a born Lahori, was just another academically struggling Pakistani student who had to surf his way through numerous institutions, in the wake of harshly needed college degree but, unfortunately, the struggle remained futile where a guy as talented as Mooroo surprisingly couldn’t squeeze his way through college. According to him, this unfortunate set of circumstances was majorly the reason of him being what he is today. Him being grounded as sort of a punishment inflicted upon him by his parents proved to be a blessing in disguise in a way that he created a world of his own making in his mind, mapped with melodies and fictionalized characters shielded from all his insecurities that would go on to serve as the realization of his aptitude. This triggered the birth of the imaginative, innovative and ingenious “Mooroo” from a markedly stray failure “Taimoor Salahuddin”.
PURSUIT OF A DREAM:
Identical to many inspirational stories Mooroo, too, opted to pursue a career that is, in many ways, considered pretty risky and unorthodox here in Pakistan and that is – Music. Nevertheless, he followed where his heart went discarding the fundamental thoughts of ensuring a vital livelihood. Having just an equal interest and affection for filmmaking and cinematic creations, Mooroo became successful in acquiring a degree in filmmaking from Orlando, Florida. Although Mooroo spent an enormous time of his life in Europe and America which is the hub of the fields he’s getting a firm grip in, I admire Mooroo for his love for his homeland, because let’s be honest if he’d wanted to he’d make a finer living out there for himself but whenever someone questions him of not doing so, he replies in simple words: “It’s my country”.
Attaining the necessary amount of education in the aforementioned fields, Mooroo commenced his career in filmmaking by doing a couple of Pakistani TVCs. Following this, Mooroo made appealing music culminated with the most appropriate humor and directed many music videos over the years as well that caught attention of the masses. This was around the time when he started to gain popularity amongst Pakistani audience.
PIONEER OF CREATIVITY IN TODAY’S PAKISTAN:
He often called music his favorite of tools for communicating his deepest of feelings in the purest way. His music represents his unshackled spirit, exercising different genres without any limitation; the way he applies his self-made pieces of musical segments in his videos feels extremely pleasant.
The very trait which distinguishes Mooroo from the lot of other content creators over social media, is his immaculate creativity and artistry. I look onto his works as sort of a revolution that has the potential to influence a wide range of striving young talents who aspire to bring a change with whatever bit of talent they have. Somehow, his videos manage to contain a philosophical and esoteric layer of significant stuff wherever possible so a look at his works surely proves fruitful and inspirational to all tyoes of viewers in some way; whether it’s a 9 year old school-goer or a 50 year old veteran. His videos are not solely a source of entertainment but also food for thought; point being it is an art. I would like to quote another Pakistani content-creator, Raza Samo here who describes Mooroo’s work in the following words: “We ought to pay to watch Mooroo.”
A REVOLUTIONARY GENIUS:
Mooroo is one of those examples to look forward to in this regard, substantially for the one who is too afraid or hesitant to take up a profession according to one’s adeptness because Mooroo proves if the passion is innate, you can work your way from the bottom up to the top. In spite of all this, some put forward reasons to contradict this with saying Mooroo was born into a fairly wealthy family. That’s true, however, his work suggests otherwise because the way I look at it, he obviously does not do it for monetary rewards as there is always a fine line apparent between commercial content meant to go viral and artistic content that’s just done for the love of craft; and Mooroo’s content is included in the latter.
Mooroo always stood apart from controversies unlike today’s content creators behave for the sake of earning a chunk of dollars. Mooroo’s talks don’t have the void to accommodate contradiction because even if he argues on a religious topic, he bothers to enlist all the necessary Qur’an-ic verses and Hadith. He follows the habit of talking on the most informative of topics and dives into elaboration with an entertaining attitude to pay the audience the exact worth of their time.
SKILLFUL BEHIND AND BEFORE THE CAMERA:
Mooroo’s 2018 short Web-series “Sayay” is inarguably the most brilliant content that has been created on an online platform in Pakistan, considering how he attempted to create something like that with a budget as trivial as one’s wallet money. Apart from Mooroo’s mastery in direction and music, his acting is another thing to be admired. Mooroo has intelligently created many characters through his tenure on Youtube. He is not just another comedy skit actor on social media, his acting is skillful and inventive with the variety of characters he excellently portrays in a single act, each with a profound depth of its own accompanied by meaningful dialogues and a decent cinematography, too, according to the means and all this, while have written the script himself, this is an admirable achievement.
Suffice to say, Mooroo is by far the most extraordinarily creative creator and potentially the most talented artist Pakistani industry has, in my opinion. Only if the higher-ups sense the value artists like him, Pakistan’s derailed entertainment industry could get back on the right track. This gave me all the more reason to write all this because I feel like I’m inevitably obliged to urge my fellow countrymen to support and promote an exceptionally deserving talent of their own.
